August 2017 newsletter

I hope that you have been enjoying a happy and relaxing summer!!  Before you know it, we will be meeting again and planning our upcoming year.  It will be tough to top last year, but I’m sure we will have a fun and productive year!!! Deb

Our August Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 16 at Talk of the Towne.  Breakfast at nine with the meeting starting at 9:30. 

September General Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 5 at the Union Presbyterian Church.  Social time is at 11:30 with BYOBL (Bring your own bag lunch) at noon.  Water will be provided and feel free to bring a dessert to share!!  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!!! 

September’s Council Meeting will be on September 15, in Runnemede.  Registration starts at 6:00, with the meeting starting at 6:30.  All Club members are welcome to attend!! 

Our Club will be hosting Arts Performing Day on March 15, 2018 at the YMCA.  Get started with those songs, skits, and other routines now!!  Last year’s event went very well and the 2018 event should be just as nice with the help of the terrific Arts/Performing committee!!

SCRIP – Order blanks will be available at both the Board and General meetings. Please turn in to Deb Sillery along with your payment. This is an easy fundraiser for our club, so all are urged to participate.  

Just a reminder that we will be collecting items for the Vineland Veterans’ Home once again. Along with cube tissues, lip balm and small toiletries, we are also collecting 2018 calendars for distribution. Charlotte Warfield is in charge of this project.

Our club collects items for various causes. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Box Tops and Tyson Project A+ labels to benefit local schools – Education Committee

Cancelled stamps – Seeing Eye Dog project – Jeannette Harbeson (Eastern Star)

            Used Greeting Cards – The Arc of Salem County– Rae Walzer

            Aluminum Can Tabs – Miracle For Matteo – Linda Gerace

            Monetary Donations – Salem County Humane Society – Marie Boody

In addition, Union Presbyterian Church collects used ink cartridges, eye glasses, cell phones and small electronics. Containers for these items are located in the hallway by the handicapped entrance.
